Animal Healthcare Tech Enabled Services:
Project Gau Rakshak
A tech enabled animal healthcare services program where SJIF provided quality healthcare services to cattle in Telangana by combining technology with on ground execution support leveraging partnerships. Together with its technical partner, SJIF Set up Mobile Veterinary units in the state of Telangana to reach the farms and villages; created awareness among livestock owners to avail the project services; provided vehicles, fuel, lab consumables disposables and equipment in the MVU, activated software solutions for unique identification of cattle, enabled livestock health screening through a mobile application; enabled telemedicine with Vet doc at farm consultation, Lab and diagnostic services, dispensation of medicines, created cattle health records and vehicle tracking systems for holistic improvement of cattle.
Training and Campaigns on Sustainable Farming Practices
Organized awareness campaigns and training programs in 3 villages of Jadcherla Mandal, Mahaboobnagar district on the importance and practice of Permaculture for sustained farming practices and methodologies
Built capacity of 200 farmers in Sindhanur of Raichur District in Karnataka. The programs covered important permaculture aspects like contours (1. To control Soil Erosion. 2. To harvest Rain Water), Wind Breaks, companion and host plantation, animal integration in farming, natural pest management systems, improving soil fertility methods, and importance of ground cover and mulching.
Extending consultancy services to interested individuals who want to cultivate their fallow lands for profitable farming in an effective way to increase agriculture productivity and to support livelihoods.
Enabling Climate friendly solutions in rural areas
Distributed Solar Lanterns to the students in rural and tribal hamlets both in Telangana and Rajasthan. Conducted training on solar energy usage in agriculture.
Collaborating with various NGOs and companies to support the CSR activities to support the underserved segments of the society
Objective: An initiative aimed at elevating the power of rural women by transforming them into digital businesses providing local market access in their communities while earning increased incomes
Model: The program supports rural women entrepreneurs through a unique blend of physical and digital enablers to unlock their income earning potential
Role: As a capacity building partner in the initiative, SJIF performs the following functions:
Fosters on-ground partnerships to unlock critical market linkages for women entrepreneur
Co-creates an ecosystem to transform rural women entrepreneurs into digitally savvy physical and digital storefronts enabling critical last mile market access in their communities
Monitoring & governance of donations / grant funds
Maps, enrolls and inducts rural women entrepreneurs
Builds capacity of rural women entrepreneurs through thematic trainings and provides handholding support through their business journey
Catalyzes community support for the rural women entrepreneur
